Geoffrey “Kill” McCormick has played drums in rock, metal, and blues bands throughout the Midwest prior to relocating to AZ permanently in 2012. He has played all over the Midwest with several notable acts including Blues/World artist Kenn Fox, Oarfin record artists “Katella” (with sales throughout the US and Europe), Dove Award winning guitarist Rex Carroll (Whitecross) solo project the “Rex Carroll Band”, and perennial Midwest Festival circuit favorites, 80s Supergroup Tribute “Category X”. While playing with Rex, Geoff was nominated for a WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) award as Best Drummer. With these bands he has played venues up to 10k seat outdoor amphitheaters, supporting big name acts including Def Leppard, The Wallflowers, Jackyl, Survivor, Seven Mary Three, and more. In addition, he is a recording engineer and producer, having done recent production and many drum tracks for notables such as “Arnie Badde” of the early 80s LA Power Pop band “Blind Date” (credited with creating the “Power Pop” genre that spawned acts such as Cheap Trick), and Nora Collins, an up and coming Country singer/songwriter who has won massive media exposure and several awards in her hometown of Milwaukee WI including WAMI awards for Best New Artist and more. Nora is currently showcasing in Nashville TN.
After relocating to AZ, he briefly played in a couple of projects including Motley Crue tribute “Public Enemy #1” and “Cactus Chainsaw” which was renamed “Full Boar” before disbanding.
Influences include Phil Rudd of AC/DC, Robert Sweet, Kenny Aronoff, Neil Peart, Tommy Lee, Scott Rockenfield, and more. His playing is defined by rock solid, irresistible groove, accented by tasteful riffs and an outgoing, big personality. Being the backbone of a big, loud band is his second nature!
